Fans Trust, Cambridge Fans United, has issued the following statement:

Following the news on Friday involving the likely change of ownership of the Abbey Stadium to Grosvenor Developments, CFU has further information concerning action aimed at the club repurchasing the ground.

CFU Chairman, Dave Matthew-Jones, said, "During the weekend there have been some tentative enquiries involving funding assistance. We now need to provide further information to potential investors and backers. A joint group has been set up to manage this project. We need to act quickly and decisively to move forward to a successful conclusion. "

Dave Matthew-Jones and Robert Smith will be the main contacts on behalf of the CFU and Cambridge United.

If we are successful, the ground will be held within a Community Interest Company. Interest will be paid to investors.
