Debutant 'keeper Simon Brown was happy to get 90 minutes under his belt and although not finishing on the winning side was pleased with his personal performance.
"Being a 'keeper you are always disappointed when you've conceded goals but you take percentages and when you consider the amount of charges that they had today to keep them down to two has to be seen as a good day."
Although Brown was impressed with the team's performance right from the kick-off he was disappointed in how AFC Wimbledon were allowed back into the game.
"We started really brightly, passed the ball around and to watch if you didn't know the league positions you would have thought we were the side challenging for promotion and not them. After the goal we seemed to take our foot of the gas, stopped doing the right things and stopped playing in the right areas.
"We lost our way a little bit by giving the ball away and it let them back into the match and that led to their equaliser. That carried on into the second half when they went ahead."
Pulling on a United shirt for the first time Simon was very impressed by the way his teammates adapted to losing a man and how the ten men then forced their way back into the match. Although from what he had seen from the few day's that he has been part of the squad it didn't come as too much of a surprise.
"It so often happens that a side goes down to ten men it sparks teams on. Forcing them to work and graft that bit harder, you have to close people down with the man deficit. Credit to the lads they worked their socks off out there. I've only been working with them for two days but they are the fittest bunch of lads I've seen for a long while.
"This side doesn't seem to me to be the one that the results over the last few months show. When our backs are up we are a good side but the other side of that when things aren't going right for us and we have to graft we don't look so good. If we can steer clear of that scenario taking great confidence from the performance today we can keep well away from any relegation battle.
"The lads were absolutely buzzing in the dressing room, because when Wimbledon got the ball down and started playing proved they are a very good side ands we proved we are probably more than their equal today. So let us take that feeling on to the next match and continue to show people what we are capable of."
