Cambridge United have signed 25-year old Antonio Murray until the end of the season as a replacement for Andy Parkinson who had his contract terminated today by mutual consent.

Parkinson made over 20 starts for the U's since joining in the summer of 2008. Parky began last season by setting up the first goal of the new campaign but two days later ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament in training.

Hard work and determination saw him return in March, and on his third appearance from the bench he scored his first goal in the 4-1 win at home to Northwich and reached double figures for appearances. To date this season Andy has made 16 starts for the U's.

Speaking on the arrival of Murray, who scored 33 goals in 89 starts during his time at Histon, Martin explained, "Antonio is versatile player has a good goal scoring record in the Conference.

"He's been training with us for the last week and has impressed me, so it's now up to the boy to show me he can be a part of my future plans."

Murray added, "I'm delighted to be here. I've supported the Club since a youngster and with my Dad playing here too, it's very proud moment for me. I'll be doing everything I can to earn the right to be part of Martin's plans for the future."
