Cambridge United are delighted to announce the appointment of Mel Jeffries as the new Business Manager for the Sport and Recreation arm of the soon to be launched Cambridge United Youth and Community Trust.

Mel, who starts his role from January 1st 2010, arrives with a wealth of experience in Community Sports Programmes and told the website, "I am very excited about this opportunity to help position the club at the heart of the community through the Cambridge United Youth and Community Trust."

"My work will be centred on the coordination and increase of activities in local schools throughout the region and to work closely with local authorities to develop partnerships which will enhance our Sport and Recreation programme over the coming years."

The Cambridge United Youth and Community Trust is being formed to establish an integrated set of activities and facilities which taken together will form a Healthy Recreation program by developing the physical, social and mental well being of our Community.

The Trust will aim to place Cambridge United Football Club at the heart of the community by providing opportunities for interaction with the club, helping to develop and grow the foundations of the club by expanding its geographical reach, supporter base and interaction with the community.
