U's Pair Star in England C Win

Posted on: Wed 18 Nov 2009

Chris Holroyd and Jai Reason both featured in England C's friendly win against Poland in Grodzisk Wielkopolski on Tuesday evening.

Making his second England C appearance, Holroyd scored in the 36th minute to cancel out Poland's opener.

Reason was included among the substitutes and came off the bench for the last 20 minutes to make his England bow, and set up fellow debut-making sub Matthew Barnes-Homer to score the winner 15 minutes from time.

York City's leading scorer Richard Brodie started the game and had a goal disallowed before he came off with a foot injury, but he hopes to be fit for York's match at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.
