U's Earn Youth Cup Trip to Tranmere

Posted on: Wed 04 Nov 2009

Cambridge United's Under-18s won 4-0 at Histon in their FA Youth Cup first round tie on Tuesday evening.

A healthy crowd of 313 watched as four first half goals all but settled the tie by half-time.  Defender Blaine Hudson headed the young U's in front after just two minutes, Luke Berry added the second on the half hour and the Histon goalkeeper helped Jack Eades' cross into the net a minute later, while Jack Bailey completed the scoring on 41 minutes with a curling shot in off the woodwork.

The win earns the under-18s a second round tie at Tranmere Rovers in two weeks time.  Date and details will be confirmed in due course.
