Football In the Community Statement
As part of our ongoing review of all activities associated with the Club, a strategic analysis of the Community-based programmes currently in operation has taken place.
One of these programmes was the Football in the Community scheme which operates independently under a licence at the Club.
Following this extensive review it has been determined that the club will now commence the formal process to establish a new Charitable Trust, within which it will deliver an enhanced range of Youth and Community based activities. The forward thinking new structure will offer a greater range of initiatives, programmes and interactions within our community, covering a wider geographical area.
As part of this restructure the licence currently held by the existing Football in the Community programme has been withdrawn. This operation will effectively close on 1st November 2009.
Stuart Jacobs, the current programme manager, has decided to progress his career into teaching and will leave the programme at this time. The club would like to thank him for his hard work and wishes him well for the future.
The new structure will enable the club to expand and properly align its Youth and Community activities going forward.
