Mark Beesley has joined Chester City on loan for a month.
The striker started the first four games of the season but has only started once in the last eleven games, scoring twice, and has joined his former club for the opportunity of more regular football.
Beesley will also be reunited with his former manager at Forest Green, Jim Harvey, who took charge at the Deva Stadium this week.
Martin Ling explained, "Mark has been a bit frustrated with his lack of pitch time, and because he missed a chunk of time at the end of last season with injury he feels he needs some games to get his fitness levels to where he wants them to be. This is an opportunity for him to do so.
"It's not that I want him out of the club or that Bees wants to leave the club," Ling added, "it's that he wants to be starting in the team and he missed a lot of last season. So he's joining them for 28 days and I feel a fitter and sharper player will come back."
Beesley's loan runs to 7th November and he will be permitted to play for Chester in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Road on 24th October, and also in the First Round Proper on 7th November should they progress.
He joined Chester from Preston in 2000 and spent four years there before joining Forest Green, via Southport and Hereford, in 2004, then signing for United in January 2008.
