There has been a last-minute change in the all-ticket status of our match on Saturday, which is NOT now designated as an all-ticket match.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused to supporters who have had to arrange to purchase tickets for this game in advance, and those who have had to arrange for duplicate tickets today due to their non-arrival via the postal system.
Supporters who contacted our ticket office to arrange for duplicate tickets should still collect their tickets from the AFC Wimbledon ticket office on Saturday as arranged.
The statement from AFC Wimbledon is as follows:
This game was designated as all ticket for safety reasons because, after consultation with the police, we needed to manage ticket sales so as to ensure that full segregation was enforced.
Earlier today we received the sales figures for the Kingston Road end (where Cambridge fans will be housed). We understand that there are over 150 tickets still available for that end. As a result, we have concluded, again after consulting the police, that we can sell tickets on the day of the game, with reasonable confidence that the game will not sell out.
Therefore, we have decided to lift the 'all ticket' designation for this game and sell tickets to home and away fans on Saturday. We apologise to fans who have gone out of their way to get tickets in advance, but we believe that keeping the game all ticket in the light of this information would not be fair to fans who find they can come on the day.
Tickets for Cambridge fans will be on sale at the Kingston Road turnstiles and tickets for Wimbledon fans (for the John Smith stand only) will be on sale at the Tempest End turnstiles.
