Colin Walker, the temporary Assistant Manager of Forest Green Rovers, emerged from their dressing room an hour after the final whistle blaming individual errors for their heavy 7-0 defeat at the R Costings Abbey Stadium.
"I can't repeat what was said in the dressing room but the players know they have a game in three days' time to put things right; that's the only way to look at it," he stated. "You can analyse each goal if you want but we have another game in three days time to turn it around and that's the way we've got to talk about it.
"In the four games that I've been here it has been individual errors that cost us, and today it was Stevie Adams. He has played games in the Football League but today he made the mistake and they punished us with the first goal and then we're in trouble.
"We came out in the second half with a shot from Stony (Paul Stonehouse) that goes over the bar and we're on the offensive and I'm thinking 'OK, this is what we need to do'. But another individual error saw us two down, and whether it is a penalty or not I can't get into and it's three-nil and we're down to ten men.
"From then on anything could have happened," added the former York City manager. "How many goalkeepers go for a ball with their knee or foot up? The striker has been brave and kept on going but I can't use that as an excuse as there's been another four goals after that."
Walker concluded,"I could stand here and give all of the usual excuses, but the fact is we've lost the game seven-nil. They are professional footballers and they have to get their minds right to go and put things right on Tuesday night and that's why we have been in that dressing room all this time. It's down to Dave (Brown, caretaker player-manager) and myself to do this."
