U's Not Ready To Appoint Manager
Monday was a long day for Cambridge United's directors as they assessed the club's financial position with the assistance of former finance director Nick Pomery, then held another board meeting in the evening.
Afterwards director Jez George told cambridgeunited.com, "Today has been an exhaustive but productive process and we have a much better understanding of the figures.
"However, this is an ongoing process and we are not yet in a position to discuss appointing a new manager."
Jez added, "We intend to conduct our business professionally and privately, so that we avoid speculation. We will make an announcement at the right time for the club when the right process has been concluded by the relevant parties.
"Whilst we always want to communicate to our fans, we are sure they appreciate the need for us to follow a process in house rather than through the media."
Player-assistant manager Paul Carden will continue in charge of the first team at Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday evening, with Jez's help from the dugout.
