The first team squad was boosted today by the addition of goalkeeper Laurie Walker on non-contract terms, while second year scholars Blaine Hudson and Luke Berry have earned first team squad numbers.
Walker (pictured, right) has been with the squad throughout pre-season and started two games, and also came on twice as a hard-running emergency striker late in games when an injury had occurred.
Indeed, the 19-year-old's tall presence contributed directly to the equalising goal against a West Ham XI.
The highly-rated young keeper started out with MK Dons before joining League One side Millwall on a free transfer last summer, where he featured for their reserves and also had a month on loan at Ryman Premier outfit Harrow Borough, before being released at the end of the season. Laurie has been allocated squad number 31.
Luke Berry has been with Jez George since he was 11 years old, initially at Cambridge City.
The Bassingbourn-based midfielder chose to sign a scholarship with Cambridge United despite the overtures from several much bigger clubs and was a central presence in midfield for CRC last season, showing maturity and ability beyond his years to become a key and consistent performer.

6ft 5ins centre half Blaine Hudson joined the club in May 2008 after being released by Norwich City.
He is a commanding presence and captained the side in the youth cup as a first year last season, also weighing in with some important goals from set pieces.

Both Luke and Blaine played well against Histon's first team in the Cambs Professional Cup on Monday, and they have been allocated numbers 24 and 28 respectively.
