Brabin Leaves Cambridge United

Posted on: Mon 13 Jul 2009

Manager Gary Brabin has been relieved of his duties as first team manager with immediate effect.

The decision was made by the Board on Monday following a meeting between Brabin and Chairman George Rolls.

Assistant manager Paul Carden has been asked to take charge of training and first team affairs for the immediate future.

There have been a number of issues between the board and the manager in recent months, culminating in a position where it has become untenable for the board and manager to work together.

The Board will now discuss the best way forward for the club and begin the process of recruiting a new manager.

The Board would like to place on record their appreciation of Gary's hard work in the year since he was appointed.
