Simon Ainge made his full home debut in the 1-0 defeat to Forest Green on Saturday and found it a frustrating experience, but hailed the fans for their support throughout.
"It was disappointing to make my debut here with a defeat," admitted the Bradford loanee, who started at right back in place of the injured Dan Gleeson and had to switch to the centre of defence when Phil Bolland left the pitch before half-time with a hamstring injury.
"Forest Green came with a game plan to hold out for a result and once they were a goal ahead they were going to pack the defence and make it even more difficult for us. Saying that, we had chances but just didn't take them.
"It must have been as frustrating for the fans to watch as it was for us to play in that type of game but they didn't falter in their support throughout."
The Shipley-born defender has made six starts and eight appearances from the bench for Bradford, and also knows this league quite well after a spell on loan at Halifax last season when he made twelve Blue Square Premier appearances, including our 2-1 win there last February.
"It's up to us to put this right on Tuesday at Stevenage when the fans will be out in force again and we will give everything to get them the three points," said 21-year-old Ainge.
"At least Stevenage should try to attack us more than Forest Green did, and that will give the lads up front far more opportunities."
