United in Learning Update
Hello all and a belated happy new year!
Last week we held our second graduation ceremony which saw students from Fulbourn, Burwell and St Albans collect their goody bags, certificates and CDs.
We were pleased to have in attendance not only U's player Chris Holroyd but also representatives from Cambridge University Press, who presented a bag of children's books to representatives from each of the schools.
Cambridge United Learning Centre is pleased to announce that we are collecting mobile phones on behalf of East Anglian Children's Hospice at Milton. Each mobile phone brought in will be recycled and will raise between £3 and £5.
The children who attend the United in Learning sessions are being encouraged to bring in any old phones they have.
Each person who brings in a phone will be added to a list , and at the end of the season a draw will be held and the winner will receive a signed home shirt and a pair of match tickets.
We will be collecting these phones throughout the remainder of the season and encourage all fans to bring in phones for the Cambridge United home game on Thursday 26th February against Oxford. A manned box will be by reception at that game. The more phones you bring in the more chances you have of winning!
Finally, I have recently established a blog which I will attempt to post on weekly to keep you up to date with recent developments at the centre. I hope you manage to have a look and I will apologise for any typos in advance!!
