"Fans Deserved That" Says Robbie

Posted on: Mon 22 Dec 2008

Robbie Willmott produced his "most complete performance" in Saturday's 4-0 win against Salisbury, according to manager Gary Brabin.

The teenager scored the opening goal - his first in the Blue Square Premier - and set up two for his team-mates in the second half, and now he is calling for a repeat performance against Histon on Boxing Day.

"It was important personally and as a team for us to carry on the performance from the Histon game and not let ourselves down," he said, referring to the 3-2 FA Trophy win last week.

"We've threatened to hit a team for a big result and it was even better to do it at home. The support has always been there for us and we owed that to them, so to give them the performance they deserved two weeks running is really pleasing."

Looking ahead to Friday, when Histon are the visitors for the all-ticket match, Willmott added, "Hopefully we can double the crowd for Boxing Day and make it a cauldron of noise and unsettle them out of their game plan.

"We want to get maximum points from all our home games whoever the opposition, and with the five game home run underway we can give ourselves a shout in the promotion race.

"The crowd are part of the reason for us having such a great home record over the last two years and they can really play a big part in what happens over the next few months."
