Pitt Cleared to Resume Training
Courtney Pitt has received the all-clear to resume training following his knee operation in August.
The winger suffered a knee injury in the pre-season friendly against West Ham and needed surgery to repair the cartilage and part of the joint, but following extensive rehab with physio Greg Reid and a week at Lilleshall he will now gradually return to full training.
Greg confirmed to cambridgeunited.com, "He has successfully completed his rehab following surgery to repair a torn popliteal hiatus in his knee.
"Considering this type of injury is pretty rare - the staff at Lilleshall had never come across one before - Courtney's rehab has gone exactly as planned."
As reported here earlier this week, Courtney has registered on loan with United's youth/reserve side CRC for a month, and Greg explained, "This means that after two or three weeks of training, he can get some competitive matchplay under his belt, which will help his transition back into the first team.
"I am delighted that this has been arranged, as it's something I have been advocating ever since CRC came on board."
Midfielder Darren Quinton is also back in training after missing a few days when his knee had a minor 'flare up'.
Greg commented, "It's not unusual for this to happen from time to time with type of injury that Darren sustained, and it's not a major cause for concern."
