Two Injured at York

Posted on: Mon 06 Oct 2008

Anthony Tonkin returned to the side on Saturday at York after recovering from a bout of gastroenteritis, but the U's left-back was kicked on the kneecap during the game and had treatment afterwards on the swollen joint.

Striker Chris Holroyd was also in the wars after an impact injury to his shoulder, and Gary Brabin must wait to see how both players respond to treatment before knowing if he can include them in his squad for tomorrow's match at home to Lewes.

"With two home games coming up now it would be nice to get a few more wins under our belt," said the U's boss.

"We started the season like a house on fire but we've been stuttering a bit since then and we haven't put a sequence of results together."
