Beesley Back on the Goal Trail
Mark Beesley netted in either half of Saturday 2-0 win against Wrexham to take his season's goal tally to three, and afterwards he praised the rest of the team for their contribution as United returned to winning ways.
Beesley had to wait until the sixth game of the season to score his first goal and his position was being questioned in some quarters, but he has now scored three times in the last three games and was clearly a happy man after the match.
"Before the Weymouth game the gaffer said when a goal eventually came I wouldn't be able to stop scoring as he'd seen me do it before," revealed the 26-year-old.
"Lee has taken the pressure off me by banging them in so I want to be helping him out now," he added.
"I thought having three up front worked well - we worked really hard together. The three lads in midfield gave us a solid base and gave us a similar service to what the wide lads have been giving, and Jon Challinor fitted in well at right back but we looked solid all over the pitch.
"Other than the first five minutes we didn't allow them to play; we were far more solid than the last couple of away games and that was shown in the result."
