Farrell Staying With U's
Ben Farrell has been linked with a loan move to local rivals Histon but we can confirm that the midfielder is staying with Cambridge United.
Histon enquired about taking the 22-year-old midfielder on loan, but following discussions this morning (Thursday) between United director George Rolls and Histon Chairman Gareth Baldwin a deal has not been struck and Ben will not be joining Histon.
"I don't want Ben Farrell to go; I want him to stay and he figures in my plans," confirmed Gary Brabin.
"I think the lad was a little bit frustrated after Tuesday and as far as I can gather his agent acted on that, but me and Paul and Stuart Bimson have told him we don't want him to go and we want him here, and I think he knows that now."
Farrell joined Cambridge United in January from Bedford Town and scored twice in seven starts and seven sub appearances. He signed a new two-year contract this summer and came off the bench in the final minutes of Saturday's win at Northwich.
