Pitt To Have Knee Op
Courtney Pitt will have surgery on his injured knee on Wednesday and could be sidelined for 8-12 weeks depending on the severity of the injury, while Andy Parkinson will see a specialist about the knee injury he suffered in training on Monday.
Courtney Pitt injured his left knee in the pre-season friendly against West Ham on 30th July and due to instability in the joint he had an MRI scan two days later. The decision regarding surgery was deferred for a week while he underwent a controlled rehab programme but he will now have the 'keyhole' operation tomorrow.
"He has a tear of the lateral meniscus (cartilage) and damage to the postero-lateral corner, which is the area of the knee that is damaged and requires a repair as well," explained physio Greg Reid.
"How long he is out depends on the extent of the damage to the postero-lateral corner and whether that needs to be sutured, which would push the anticipated recovery time up to three months."
In another blow to Gary Brabin's plans, Andy Parkinson twisted his knee in training on Monday and had an MRI scan today, and he could also require surgery.

Greg told cambridgeunited.com, "At this stage it does look like it could be a significant injury with considerable derangement of the knee but we will know more tomorrow.
"We will reassess the injury when we go back to see the specialist with the scans, and based on the outcome of that we will know more about the next stage."
