Courtney: "An Easy Choice"
Courtney Pitt was glad to sign for Cambridge United again after an eventful close-season.
The 26-year-old was among the players released by Jimmy Quinn at the end of last season but after talks with new manager Gary Brabin he signed a new two-year deal at the club this morning.
"This summer has been a bit of a roller coaster," he admitted after putting pen to paper.
"I didn't want to leave, and when I found out the club were interested in bringing me back and I spoke to the new manager it was an easy choice to make.
"I've obviously had to talk to other clubs after being released, but I've stayed in touch with the lads and I've heard about the new signings and now I'm back here I just want us to build on last season."
With United finishing as runners-up last season but losing out to Exeter City in the Play-off Final at Wembley, he added, "Hopefully we can go one better this time - that's my target."
New manager Gary Brabin has clearly impressed Pitt with his plans and the pacy winger, who spent most of last season in a wingback role, added, "The new manager has shared his thoughts with me about what he wants to do here and how he wants to play.
"I just want to play anywhere he wants me to, but hopefully it will be a more attacking role."
