CFU Statement

Posted on: Mon 16 Jun 2008

Cambridge Fans United have called for calm following the departure of manager Jimmy Quinn and urged the club to move quickly in appointing a replacement.

Chairman of the Fans Trust, Dave Matthew-Jones, commented, "CFU would like to thank Jimmy Quinn for his work over the last two seasons. He helped put Cambridge United back on track and gave the passionate fans of this wonderful club something to be proud of once more.

"This news does not send out the message of stability we would like to be seeing. We urge the club to appoint a new management team as quickly as possible. They will need the maximum time possible to add to the blend of youth and experience present in the squad of fifteen players we currently have.

"I'm sure once the initial shock of this news has worn off, the supporters will be looking forward to getting right behind the new manager and team for the upcoming campaign."
