Wordsworth Departs
Willy Wordsworth will be leaving Cambridge United when his temporary contract expires at the end of May.
Wordsworth joined the club as Chief Scout last summer and stepped up to Assistant Manager following the departure of Alan Lewer in February 2008.
U's Chairman Philip Law thanked Wordsworth and paid tribute to his role: "Willy has been great to work with and I know Jimmy and the players were very grateful that he agreed to assist the first team in February. We wish him well in the future."
Meanwhile, Paul Carden is also unlikely to be back at the Trade Recruitment Stadium for pre-season training. The Accrington Stanley midfielder has signed a pre-contract agreement with Wrexham, a club he can join without uprooting his family from their home in the northwest.
The 29-year old joined the U's on loan in November and made the last of his 23 appearances for the U's in the Blue Square Premier Play-Off final at Wembley Stadium.
