Haart Hand Shirt Honour to Kershaw
The problem of which sponsor's name should appear on United's amber and black shirts at Wembley was resolved this week when home sponsors Haart stepped aside to allow long-standing away sponsors Kershaw to feature on the front of the shirts.
Haart became home shirt sponsors at the start of this season while Kershaw continued their sponsorship of the away shirts into a seventh year, which created a dilemma ahead of Sunday's Play-off Final, as Chairman Phil Law explained.
"When you sign a deal you always like to think it could end up with a Wembley appearance, but this left us with a dilemma.
"We discussed wearing shirts bearing the Haart logo for one half and Kershaw's for the other, but I believe Colchester United did something similar a few years ago and got fined by the FA. We've spoken to the authorities, it is a thorny issue and they say we can't do it.
"It was a potential problem for us, but Haart have kindly agreed to step aside and allow the Kershaw brand on our shirt, which is a magnificent gesture on their part and helps us out of a difficult situation. We are very grateful for their understanding and look forward to having the opportunity to display their logo in League Two."
Law added, "This is typical of the great co-operation and response the Club have received from all our friends and sponsors since reaching Wembley. Haart have been a pleasure to deal with this year."
Russell Jervis, Managing Director of Spicer Haart , the parent company of Haart commented, "Whilst we were desperately keen to have the 'Haart' logo on the lads at Wembley, we knew that the away shirt sponsor felt similarly. It would have been great to have had a half each but the powers that be forbid this.

"However we have decided to step aside in favour of Kershaws, on the basis of their long association with the Club. Haart are delighted with the U's success this season and our logo will be proudly worn by thousands of fans on the terraces at Wembley."
