Free Beer for U's Fans!
Waterbeach Colts FC's annual beer festival has been hit by Cambridge United's play-off success.
Chris Nelson, Waterbeach Chairman, explained, "Everyone associated with the Club is delighted by United's recent upsurge. However, the village is going to be a quiet place next Sunday because it seems everyone's got 'Wembley Fever'!
"Our beer festival traditionally has a football theme and spans the whole of Cup Final weekend anyway, so we will ensure that there's a wide screen TV to show the U's game live."
United Chairman Phil Law is usually found pulling the pints and chatting to punters at the Festival, but although he will be at Wembley, organising chair Annette Brady still reckons Waterbeach recreation ground is the place to be for United fans on Friday and Saturday nights.
"The beer festival is great fun and always well attended," she said. "However, I've got to say that most of the talk is football related and this year I expect it will be full-on Cambridge United! We would obviously welcome all U's fans to this popular village event."
Waterbeach Beer Festival runs from 6.00pm-10.30pm tonight (Friday), 2.00pm-10.30pm Saturday and 2.00pm-6.00pm Sunday.
All United fans who turn up wearing a Club shirt will be offered a free half pint voucher.
