Jeffery Returns to West Ham
Striker Jack Jeffery has returned to West Ham at the end of his loan spell.
The 18-year-old scored his first goal for Cambridge United in his final appearance on Saturday at Salisbury City, setting the U's on the way to a vital 2-0 win.
He joined United in late February to gain first team experience and provide an additional option up front following Lee McEvilly's ankle ligament injury, and he made four starts and six appearances from the bench during his two months with the U's.
McEvilly is now close to a first team return and Leo Fortune-West returns from his loan to York City after Saturday's game so Jack's loan was not renewed, but assistant manager Willy Wordsworth praised 'JJ' for his contribution while at the Abbey Stadium.
"Jack has been absolutely fantastic for us and what a way to sign off - that win gives us a huge chance now to go on and cement a place in the play-offs."
