Quinn Demands Goals
Cambridge United visit bottom club Droylsden on Saturday, looking to get back to winning ways following three defeats and a draw in the last four games and a worrying slide down the table to fifth place.
Despite our recent form the bookies have United as odds on favourites at 11/20, with Droylsden 17/4 to win and the draw at 11/4, and as usual there is a wide range of other match odds offering great value. Click here for all the match odds.
Team News
Goalkeeper Danny Potter returns after serving a one match suspension against Kidderminster last weekend but defender Mark Albrighton serves the second of his automatic two-match ban after collecting ten yellow cards.
Jimmy Quinn confirmed yesterday that captain Danny Brown will start his first game since last January [article], fellow midfielder Ben Farrell is also available after returning to full training this week, and striker Lee Boylan is fit to start after being restricted to the bench for an hour last week by a hamstring problem.
However, wingback Dan Gleeson is still sidelined with the thigh strain that forced him to miss last week's defeat, and he is likely to miss next Tuesday's match at Rushden & Diamonds too.
"It's one of those injuries that you can't rush back because if you do he could be out for even longer," the manager warned. "Dan has been a fantastic player for us all season and hopefully he'll be back fit next Saturday against Stafford."
Long-time absentees Dan Chillingworth, Darren Quinton and Michael Hyem are still ruled out, and striker Lee McEvilly will visit Lilleshall next week for further treatment and rehabilitation of his ankle injury [article].
United's lack of goal threat and three individual errors handed a 3-0 win to Kidderminster last weekend and Quinn promised that they have tried to address those problems in training all week to ensure no repeat at The Butchers Arms tomorrow.
"The lads are working very hard to eradicate the kind of mistakes we made in the last game, where we made three basis defensive errors for their goals, and at the other end we had enough chances to win two games but we couldn't put the ball in the net," he said.

"We're looking at the defenders doing their job and keeping a clean sheet and the forwards to get the goals to win us games. We have to be confident and ruthless at both ends of the park from now until the end of the season and hopefully we'll put that right on Saturday."
The Opposition
Droylsden are currently bottom on 19 points and they have taken just four points from their last six home games, while United have won just two of their last six away games and need to return to winning ways to secure a play-off place as soon as possible.
The home side have midfielder Jamie McGuire and striker Steve Daly available again following suspension and defender Lee Roche returns from jury service, but midfielder Kevin Lynch is doubtful with a hamstring problem incurred during Thursday's match at Exeter.
Droylsden reconvene tomorrow after their long trip to Exeter City on Thursday, when their determined 1-1 draw prevented the Grecians from leapfrogging over United into fifth place and pushing the U's outside the play-off places for the first time all season.
"They're bottom of the league but they've had one or two results recently - they drew against Aldershot at home and they've drawn at Rushden and Exeter - so they're no mugs, but they're bottom for a reason," commented Quinn.
"They're letting in the most goals and not winning as many as other teams, so we've got to take that confidence and have a go at them. I want our lads to enjoy their football and go out and create chances, but when I've been stressing to everyone that when they get in a goal scoring position they've got to hit the target.
"I haven't been disappointed with the performances and I think we've actually been playing OK, but the bottom line is that we haven't been putting the ball in the back of the net.
"Droylsden will be scrapping but they're showing a lot of spirit and they won't lay down and die, so it will be a tough game but we should have the experience and know-how to hopefully play well and get the points we need."
