SATURDAY PITCH INSPECTION

Posted on: Sat 29 Mar 2008

There will be an inspection of the Abbey Stadium pitch at 8.30am on Saturday.

Although Stadium Manager Ian Darler has introduced 25 tons of sand into the pitch today, the prolonged rain means the playing surface is very heavy and the weather forecast is not favourable, with more rain expected.

Match referee Andrew Halliday will inspect the pitch at 8.30am in the morning to allow the club to give maximum warning to supporters should the match have to be postponed.

We will announce the decision here on the club website as soon as possible following the inspection, and will inform our local media partners accordingly.  We would request all supporters to check the website first for any news and please refrain from calling the club offices before 9.30am to avoid blocking the telephone lines.
