We are asking Cambridge United supporters to support local charity East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) by joining the Club's main sponsor Kershaw in donating your old mobile phones.
EACH provides vital support for life-threatened children and their families, both at Milton Hospice and in their own homes. This year it is anticipated that it will cost around £4.9 million to run all three hospice services, of which approximately £3.9 million must come from voluntary donations.
Donating your old unwanted mobile phones is a really easy way of supporting the charity as they can make £3 per phone donated.
Kershaw have been supporting EACH for five years and its staff has raised a total of around £12,000 in that time, which makes a real difference to the care that EACH can provide to local families.
Kershaw's Sales Director Ian Greenstock commented, "We made a record £3,000 last December just by asking our staff to donate at a Christmas party and I am pleased we have been able to support such a worthwhile local charity.
"It was my links with the Club that has encouraged the relaunch of the recycling scheme, and I hope United supporters will get behind the Charity too."
Cambridge United are proud to be joining Kershaw by helping to relaunch the EACH recycling scheme at the game against Forest Green on Saturday. We are asking supporters to bring along their old phones to hand in before the game or to collect an envelope to send them in direct.

General Manager Heather Wilkanowski said, "Cambridge United has a long established relationship with the Milton Hospice, with several former managers and players being invited to visit and witness first hand the extraordinary work carried out by the staff and volunteers.
"We are delighted to offer support to their latest fundraising initiative and would encourage all of our supporters and sponsors to donate any old mobile phones to the Charity."
