Poll for Peters!
Cambridge United defender Mark Peters has been nominated for the Blue Square Premier 'Player of the Month' award and is included on a shortlist of five players that have impressed the panel during the month of December 2007.
The nomination for 'Rhino' reads as follows:
Mark Peters (Cambridge United)
Peters and his defensive colleagues at the Abbey Stadium conceded only 2 goals in 6 games in all competitions during December. Their run of clean sheets was only breached by an incorrect linesman's flag at Kidderminster, conceding their only goal in three Blue Square Premier games during the period. The defender, who started his career at Peterborough (actually it was Man City! - Ed.) , has been a solid influence during Cambridge's fight for a promotion place.
The other nominated players are John Grant (Aldershot Town), Wayne Hatswell (Rushden & Diamonds), Jamie Mackie (Exeter City) and Martyn Woolford (York City).
Voting closes at 12noon on Monday 7th January and you can place your vote here. The winning player will be announced during the build up to Torquay United v Burton Albion - live on Setanta - January 7th.
