Sinnott: "We Made The Better Errors!"

Posted on: Wed 22 Aug 2007

After seeing his Blue Square Premier newcomers beaten 5-1 at a rainswept Abbey Stadium, Farsley Celtic boss Lee Sinnott felt errors from his side had a major effect on the scoreline.

"It was a difficult night," he admitted, "but to be honest we made it difficult for ourselves.

"At times we played the better football but we also made the better errors, and I felt those errors served Cambridge their goals on a silver platter tonight.

"In the second half particularly we played some great passing football, but at half-time and three-nil down the game was just about over for us. I'm pleased with how the team reacted in the second half and the two late goals didn't do justice to our general play in that period.

"Cambridge took the chances we let them have very well, and we'll learn our lessons from tonight. I find it annoying and frustrating in a way because if we'd been outpassed and outplayed and lost 5-1 I could accept the 5-1 scoreline, but that wasn't the case tonight."
