Striker Agrees Terms

Posted on: Wed 08 Aug 2007

Leo Fortune-West has agreed terms with Cambridge United and is set to sign on Thursday morning.

The big striker played for an hour against Leicester City on Monday evening and said afterwards that he could see United were "a very good side" [interview].

He had to speak to another club yesterday and at least two other Blue Square Premier clubs were thought to be courting the 36-year-old, but he spoke to Jimmy Quinn again today and has agreed terms on a one year deal.

"It's great news," the manager told cambridgeunited.com. "Especially with Chilli being injured on Monday night and out for several weeks.

"Leo is a good pro, he's fit and lean and you can see he's looked after himself. And as I said on Monday, he makes space for other players and he creates chances for the people around him."
