Big Ron Returns...
Ron Atkinson has agreed to be the main Speaker at a Sporting Dinner at the club, supported by a top comedian. There will also be two top celebrity tables from Ron's era. The dinner takes place on Friday March 27th 2009 at 6.30pm for 7pm start.
Ron was one of the most successful managers when he was at Cambridge United, and he has gone on, sometimes controversially, to become one of the best known names in the football world. The meal will comprise of a three course setting in a top quality marquee by 'Highfield'.
Organiser Colin Proctor, of the Vice-Presidents Club, said, "I am looking forward to this event, which we have not held for a while, and it promises to be a really good night out."
Manager Gary Brabin and Paul Carden will be supplying Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United and Manchester City signed football shirts for our auction, plus we will also be introducing our Club's shirts and memorabilia.
There will be 25 tables seating 10 guests at a cost of £400.00 plus VAT per table. Businesses are therefore encouraged to get in touch with the Club on 01223 566500 to book places as soon as possible, as there is always a big demand for these events. It is also possible to book individual places at tables.
'Highfield' are the specialists when it comes to catering for an event like this within a marquee. There will be a tunnel from the marquee to the Harris Suite and Ruston Room, and there is secure car parking facilities within the Club.
In addition, the marquee will provide the venue for a Northern Soul Night on the Saturday night, 28th March. This will be a Massive event, run by Tony Deller with back up from Max Rees and David Hayden, three fantastic Northern Soul DJs, from 7pm to 12 pm.
Tickets are £6 and they can be booked on the telephone number above, bought at the club ticket office, and remaining tickets will be 'pay on the day'.
