Fund-raising Soul Night
Souled Up is the idea of U's fans Alan Marshall (Season ticket holder & sponsor of Dan Gleeson) and Gary Atyes (CFU committee member) and born during the heady atmosphere of the Stevenage away game.
Sharing a love of soul music and both promoters of successful soul events during the 80's and early 90's (Frames, Connoisseurs, Real Deal and Sunday nights at Hobsons to name but a few!) they decided to join forces to promote a money spinning top class Soul gig for the CUFC promotion fund.
With top DJs Max Rees (currently resident Thursday nights at De Niro's, Newmarket) and the legendary Northern Soul DJ Tony Dellar heading the bill, supported by a host of DJs representing the cream of the Cambridge Soul scene of the last thirty years, the event is already creating a buzz around town, as being the hottest ticket to have this Christmas!
Thanks to the venue and partners for the event, River Bar Kitchen who are hosting it for free, Souled Up offers two rooms of music with Motown, Northern, Weekender Anthems and Jazz Funk in the Main bar and mezzanine level. Whilst those looking for a slower more soulful pace can find it in the adjacent Chill Out zone.
The event takes place on Saturday 29th December, tickets are priced at just £7 and can be brought from the club ticket office or CFU Caravan (match days only) and the ticket info line is 07792 249714.
