Adam DaviesAdam Davies must have an operation on his knee next week.

19-year-old Davies had to be substituted during the defeat at Dagenham on Bank Holiday Monday.

After allowing time for the swelling in his knee to settle, he saw the surgeon this Monday and will have surgery for a torn cartilage in his knee next week.

This will also allow the surgeon to carry out a more thorough investigation of the rest of the structures within the knee, reports physio Greg Reid.

On a brighter note, midfielder David Bridges returned to full squad training on Tuesday following an ankle injury, and defender Andy Duncan is progressing nicely and is in the final stage of his rehab protocol, following his pre-season thigh muscle injury.
