Brown & McEvilly Injury Update
Danny Brown may be able to return to the squad for the trip to Salisbury City, while striker Lee McEvilly could possibly be available for selection before the end of next week.
U's skipper Brown was ruled out of Saturday's home defeat by the shoulder injury he suffered during last Tuesday's win at Rushden & Diamonds, when his shoulder "popped out and back in again" after a heavy challenge.
A scan has revealed that Danny has not damaged any ligaments, which would probably have meant he needed an operation, but the shoulder capsule itself is damaged.
"It's very sore at the moment so he's taking pain killers and doing some strengthening work when he can," confirmed Jimmy Quinn.
"He might be available for the weekend but we'll know more nearer the end of the week."
Striker Lee McEvilly (pictured) is back at the club after spending most of last week at Lilleshall for intensive rehabilitation and assessment of his ankle injury, and he has been taking part in some running drills as he gradually steps up his training.
"We're monitoring him closely and he can still feel his ankle a bit so it's touch and go whether he'll be ready for Torquay on Tuesday, but he certainly won't be ready for the weekend," revealed the manager.
McEvilly has been sidelined for the last month after being stretchered off during the home win against Woking on March 15th. He has scored three goals in twelve appearances since joining on loan from Accrington Stanley in January.
United are at Salisbury City on Saturday (3pm), then at home to Torquay United next Tuesday (7.45pm) before travelling to Northwich Victoria on Saturday 26th (5.15pm).
