Two Cambridge United Disability Teams took place in this tournament, held on Wednesday 18th October at Coldhams Common.

The younger Cambridge Regional College team was managed by Marianne Rowley from Cambridge Regional College and Neil Andrews from Cambridgeshire. Taking part in the games for the first time, they lost to Norwich City, Ipswich Town, Watford, Beds, Hunts but beat Colchester 1-0.

Andy ColesThe older Cambridge United Ability Counts F.C. was managed by Andy Coles, Cambridge United's Ability Counts Officer (pictured) and Dennis Squires. Playing in only their second tournament, they lost to Ipswich Town and Norwich City, and won against Watford, Beds and Hunts.

Andy Coles commented, "Cambridge United, Cambridgeshire FA and the local councils are striving to develop and enhance our Disability Programme.

"We provide in-school coaching and a Saturday morning club for youngsters, plus Thursday morning training for the Ability Counts Cambridge United side. I'm extremely proud of the Ability Counts side's performances."

Neil Andrews added, "Considering most of our lads were playing in competitive games for the first time, I was really proud how they battled and continued to give their all, even when the results were going against us.

"For a young team we put in some great performances against strong opposition and the main thing is they all played with smiles on their faces and are looking forward to doing it all again on the 15th November."
