The Football in the Community Scheme held their half term Football Fun Days last week with over 200 children attending one, two and three day courses at a number of venues around Cambridgeshire.

Community officer Stuart Jacobs said, "These courses are always popular and it was a really enjoyable few days.  There were some fantastic skill on show and fun seemed to be had by all."

During the summer holidays of this year, FITC will again be touring the area, offering you the chance to attend and enjoy the Football in the Community experience. You can book your place by contacting the Football in the Community Office on 01223 416238 or email fitc@cambridge-united.co.uk (please mark the subject of your email as 'Summer Courses').

Alternatively, there will soon be a downloadable application form on this site.  That can be sent to Cambridge United FITC, Summer Soccer, Abbey Stadium, Newmarket Road, Cambridge, CB5 8LN.

Designed to give children an enjoyable and safe experience in a pressure free environment, Community Soccer Schools are for beginner and advanced players between the ages of four and 14.

Throughout the holidays will be holding a 'Euro 2004 Championship' on the Friday of each course. Parents are welcome to watch these competitions and are encouraged to be at the venue for 2pm.

The winning teams from each venue will be invited back on the 31st August and 1st of September to take part in a finals tournament. The Finalists will play the final at the Abbey Stadium! This is a free competition and will be invitation only to all winning teams.

If you have any queries and would like any other information, please contact the Community office on 01223 416238, where one of coaches will be happy to help you.

Football in the Community Course

Important Information

Cambridge United F.I.T.C. courses are fully recognised by the Professional Footballer's Association, the Football League, and the Football Association. We are covered by public liability insurance and personal accident insurance. All of our coaches are F.A. trained, Police checked, First Aid trained and have attended a Child Protection Workshop.

You will notice that some venues are hosting more than one age group or girls only courses along side mainstream courses. We hope this will be of help to parents who in the past may have had to make more than one trip.

Parents should be aware that the PFA do not allow any Community schemes to make a profit and all proceeds are put back into local schools, Colts teams and community activities across Cambridgeshire. We constantly help schools raise funds, offer free coaching, free educational sessions and much more. By supporting our courses you are also supporting your childs' school and the community.
