FITC Prepares For Half Term
Posted on: Wed 17 Nov 2004
While the players are busy working hard to make today a fifth consecutive game without defeat, the Football in the Community team is busy preparing for your half term.
Courses will be taking place in Sawston, Fulbourn, Soham, Foxton, Comberton, Swavesey, Coldhams Common, Impington and Wheatfields Junior School. From aged 4-14, male or female, regardless of ability, or experience you are welcome to come along. It's not too late to sign up for one of the courses. If you want to take part, just come along on the day with your details and money and you can join in.
For the second year in succession, football's anti-racism campaign, Kick It Out, is organising a coordinated Anti-Racism Week of Action in football. It takes place this week, the main aim being to celebrate the involvement of Black communities in football across Britain. Cambridge United Football in the Community fully support this campaign and will be working with children to ensure racism is a thing of the past.
Next term we'll be visiting many of your schools for lunchtime clubs and after school clubs. Obviously a large range of the services and activities we provide centre around football. However from lunchtime supervision, to class room aides, to story telling, we already help out at schools in ways you may not have already imagined. We have staff with very high academic qualifications as well as coaching qualifications, which may provide you with exactly what you're looking for. If you would like information regarding our fantastic Birthday and Match Day packages or you think your school or club could benefit from our help please do call us on 01223 416238.
The Community Scheme are busy organising a trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday 26th October against West Bromwich Albion. The coach leaves the Abbey Stadium at 9am and arrives back at 8pm. Tickets are available at a cost of £30 each (Moose Crew members £25) for what is sure to be a great day. To book a place on the coach or for more information, call the Community Office on 01223 416238.
We are a self-financed organization that are currently looking to expand its office space and in turn office equipment. To meet with our increasing programme demands we need to upgrade and increase our current software.
The need to increase our current working space and equipment is vital for us to expand and continue providing local schools and the community with a high standard service. If you think you can help us in any way, please contact the Community office a.s.a.p.
