Football in the Community Coach Mark Bonner brings us up to date with all the latest news from the Football in the Community Scheme.

If you yourself have attended, or your child, or indeed if you live near one of our venues, you would have seen all the children having an excellent time and displaying great ability throughout the summer. The courses this summer have proven to provide kids with hours of fun and a great opportunity to make new friends, as well as providing our coaching team with many hours of entertainment. We hope everyone enjoyed the courses, if you did we'll be back with more fun courses in the October half term, so spread the word. But for most of you guys and girls, it's back to school!

But don't worry, you'll see us around the Abbey on matchday and all the coaches will be visiting lots of different schools at lunchtimes and after school. We've all been really impressed by the footballing ability and can't wait till half term!  The Club's Advanced Centre and Centre of Excellence coaches have also been impressed, which may see one of our budding stars going all the way to the first team in the future.

On Saturday we will be welcoming the members of 'Next Steps' to the Abbey Stadium to cheer on the U's. They will take part in a coaching session in the morning and will then take their seats to watch the match.

If you belong to a local team, scout group etc you can also enjoy a whole day here at the abbey, receive excellent coaching tips, a tour of the ground and a chance to see the first team play by booking one of Match Day Visit packages throughout the season.
