CRC Extend Lead at Top

Posted on: Thu 28 Jan 2010

Cambridge United's scholars maintained their good form on Wednesday evening with a 3-0 win at home to Ely City.

The goals came in a ten minute spell after half time, with Jordan Patrick, Jack Eades and Adam Marriott the scorers. Only a succession of excellent saves prevented Marriott and (twice) substitute Jack Igglesden from extending the lead.

CRC have extended their lead at the top of the Ridgeons League to seven points after winning all of their games in hand. Jez George's side have the highest scoring attack and the meaning defence in the league, and are unbeaten in the competition since the first game of the season.

The scholars are again at home this Saturday when they face Walsham-le-Willows at The Abbey.
