We are very pleased to announce the signing of two of our under 16's to next year's scholarship group to add to Luke Hannant who signed in late November.
Taylor Parr and Peter Grant have both performed well this season but crucially have potential to build upon in the future.
Taylor (below) has been with the scheme since it began in May 2006 moving across from Cambridge City. He predominantly plays at right-back but like many players we identify he has shown he has the capability to play in numerous positions - Taylor has played in central midfield and at centre-back. Taylor has excellent athletic potential, an eye for a pass and defends well in 1v1 situations. A player of excellent character and attitude matched with being a local Cambridge boy, Taylor will make the most of every moment of his scholarship in pursuit of a professional contract.

Peter (below) joined us at the start of last summer on trial after a pre-season game with Norfolk side, Thorpe Rovers. Peter is a strong left-sided player who can play at centre-back or left-back. He made an immediate impression upon us both on the field with his consistent performances coupled with his focussed attitude and character on and off the pitch. He has worked hard in every moment of his time with us to prove he has the ability to be a scholar and fully deserves the opportunity of performing at the next level over the next two years.

Both players are, and will be as scholars, excellent examples to the young players in the Centre of Excellence as they combine excellent character and attitude with getting the most of out themselves in every minute of every training session and fixture, listening hard to apply information given and showing constant improvement as a result.
