Finances Show "Vast Improvement"
The club's auditors CKL Golding Ltd were in at the club all last week and have provisionally approved the accounts for the year ending 31st May 2008. They are expected to return in September 2008 to sign these off once the accounts have been finalised. The figures are expected to show a vast improvement on the
previous trading.
Chief Executive Norman Gautrey said, "This time last year the accounts were in no fit state to even contemplate having the auditors in, so it is a measure of the improvement that the club have made in this department that not only have the auditors been invited into the club six months earlier than last year but
also that they were happy with what they saw."
Gautrey added, "We are still awaiting final figures from the Conference regarding the Wembley money, which is expected to be in the region of £150,000, so we are unable to report exact figures - however they will show a considerable improvement on last year."
Gautrey ended by saying, "The figures are still expected to show a loss but this will not be greater than the financial commitment we currently have from the Board."
