Welcome to the supporters, directors and players of Halifax Town. I must admit to having a soft spot for Halifax; it's where I ended my playing career in the Football League and, after today's match, I wish them well in their quest trying to get back there.

The financial constraints that Chris Wilder has had to work under have been well documented. In the circumstances, he's done very well and, from recent reports, it looks like it's all sorting itself out so hopefully they can move forward.

Jimmy and I had a long chat after the game on Saturday and both said that today's match is probably our most important game of the season. When you go on such a fantastic run and it comes to an abrupt end like it did at Forest Green, you're looking for the bounce back factor. Everyone is looking to see how we bounce back and it's so important that we do.

We were poor on Saturday and we were lucky to come away with 'only' a 3-1 defeat. But at the end of the day it's not worth dwelling on that, the lads have done fantastically well over the last twelve matches. Everyone has a blip and hopefully that's ours, we've got it out of our system and we can go on another unbeaten run. But I must stress that everyone should realise that the lads have got to be applauded for such a fantastic run.

Anyone who was at the game on Saturday could see that it was the type of performance that was uncharacteristic for us. Don't get me wrong, their lad up front - Stuart Fleetwood - is a good player and is going to play in the Football League sooner rather than later and sometimes you have to hold your hand up and say that the better team won on the day.

The buzz around the place has been fantastic, right throughout the whole of the Football Club. Everyone is on an up, everyone is expecting us to win - the players are expecting to win and the supporters are expecting us to win and I don't think that's a bad thing. We've got that winning mentality and we've got to continue that now.

We signed Marvin Robinson just before our last home game. As everyone is aware, I live just outside Oxford and the local paper down here didn't really say too many kind words about him joining us. But I know Nick Merry, Chairman at Oxford, very well and I know that they hold him in high regard. For whatever reason, Jim Smith let him come out on loan to us and I think he's going to be a fantastic asset for the Football Club over the next three months.

In that brief spell people could see that he has pace and power and I think that's going to be such an important addition to the squad. Speaking to Nick, he told us that he was their main striker. Oxford is everyone's favourite to go up so managing to get him at this stage of the season is a real coup - he had a number of options but chose to come to Cambridge. I thought he was very unlucky to be sent off and I think he'll be a fantastic addition to the squad.

Leo and Scott Rendell have been the shining lights for us, especially Leo who is knocking on but does such a fantastic job up there for us. He's a real handful like he has been throughout his career but sometimes at this level it's very difficult to play every game. I know that Jimmy, at the start of the season, wanted to have four strikers that he could play around with because you need to rest people and we haven't had that opportunity.

Leo and Scott have had to play sometimes through niggly injuries or being tired and have done fantastically well. Now having Marvin and Lee Boylan back gives Jimmy the opportunity to freshen things up if he needs to and mix any of the four.

Thank you for your support.

Chairman
