Power On Quinn Speculation
Cambridge United Chairman Lee Power has responded to speculation that Gillingham Football Club approached the U's for permission to speak to Jimmy Quinn about their vacant managerial post.
In a brief statement, Power commented, "I was approached by representatives of a Football League club enquiring as to the availability of Jimmy Quinn.
"I responded that I am happy with the way things are going with Jimmy Quinn at present and hopefully things will stay that way."
Quinn was appointed Cambridge United manager last September, after the club had only taken one point from the opening six fixtures under previous manager Rob Newman.
He guided the club to the safety of 17th place and after remoulding the squad this summer United sit fifth in the table, having just suffered their first defeat of the season following a club record-breaking 12 game unbeaten start to the season.
