Barry: "It's Not Us"
Cambridge United is not seeking investment from 'MyFootballClub'
The Internet-based scheme was set up earlier this year with the aim of attracting 50,000 members and buying a football club.
With the 50,000 target now reached, the process of collecting £35 membership fees from each of them has begun and four football clubs from League Two and the Conference have reportedly been in touch with a view to being taken over.
Cambridge United are currently third in the list of clubs voted for by the registered members - behind Leeds United and Nottingham Forest - but major shareholder Paul Barry has revealed that the U's are not one of the clubs who have made an approach.
"We are aware of 'MyFootballClub' but we are not one of the four clubs who have approached them," the Seattle-based director confirmed.
