Us XI v West Ham XI

9 October 2013

A Cambridge United XI will face a West Ham United Development Squad in a friendly at the R Costings Abbey Stadium on Wednesday 16th October.

The match is an opportunity for fans see some excellent young players with potential Premier League careers ahead of them, pitting their wits against members of our first-team squad.  The U's side will consist of senior first-feam players and development players.

Kick-off is at 7pm and supporters will be seated in the Main Stand.

U’s Director of Football, Jez George, said:
“Richard (Money) explained the importance of these games in his programme notes a few weeks ago.  On the last occasion it was necessary to fill the team with trialists due to injuries, but with almost a clean bill of health within the squad at this moment in time, it is really important that one or two players coming back from injury and others who have not been playing regularly are able to get some competitive game time.  It is also a brilliant opportunity for one or two of our younger players to gain valuable experience alongside our senior professionals.  I would urge our fans to support the evening because having an atmosphere inside the stadium makes a massive difference to the intensity of the game.”

Entry will be through the Main Stand car park gate only, opening at 6pm.

The tea bars will be open, along with the Dublin Suite.

Admission:
Adults & Concessions - £5
U16's - FREE

The match is pay on the gate and no reserved seating is available.
