UNITED ARE AT THE BIG WEEKEND 2015!

U’s set to launch Home Shirt at Big Weekend

Make sure you pay Parker’s Piece a visit for the Big Weekend 2015 this Saturday and Sunday, with Cambridge United set to host live training sessions, exciting competitions and even launch the 2015/16 home shirt on the Main Stage!

Every member of the Cambridge United first team are set to join in the party on Parker Piece for the annual Big Weekend event and the Amber Army can too!

Kicking off tomorrow night with the Smarts of Cambridge Fireworks Display and live music, the U’s will arrive on Saturday hosting a succession of live training sessions, that will showcase a selection of the club’s Academy, Shadow Academy and Women’s teams.

All disabled and able-bodied players are also invited to take part in an inclusive football session, led by John Willis from Power2Inspire.

Meanwhile in the Sport Zone we’ll also have Mick George Chip in the Skip, an inflatable football pitch, Zorb Football the Beat the Goalie challenge against Marvin the Moose and Cyril the Squirrel and Football Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, all of which are sure to keep fans young and old thoroughly entertainment.

On Sunday the entire first team, complete with coaching staff will exclusively launch the 2015/16 home shirt live on the main stage, with player and manager interviews also set to take place between 1.45pm – 2.00pm.

From there the U’s will invite all in attendance back to the Sport Zone to meet every member of the first team, who will be only too happy to pose for pictures and sign autographs.

Much like Saturday, Sunday will also give junior supporters the chance to show off their skills with a number exciting competitions and challenges, which will include the chances to win shirts and free places on the Elms Cambridge BMW Summer Soccer Schools.

The full Cambridge United Big Weekend schedule is as follows:

SATURDAY

12pm - 1pm – U8/U9/U10 Academy training Session

1pm – 2pm – Inclusive Football – John Willis (Power2Inspire) – All disabled and able-bodied player are welcome

2pm – 3pm – Cambridge United Women’s FC training session – Watch our Women’s team train live

3pm – 4pm – Shadow squad training session – See our 2015/16 shadow squad train

All day: Mick George Chip in the Skip Challenge, Small-sided games in inflatable football pitch, Zorb Football, Beat the Goalie challenge with Marvin the Moose and Cyril the Soccer Schools Squirrel and Football Wimbledon

SUNDAY

12pm – 2pm – Zorb Football

12pm – 2pm – Football Wimbledon Tennis Tournament

12pm – 2pm – Mick George Chip in the Skip Challenge – U16s only - Competition with successful chippers entering the prize draw for a Cambridge United home shirt

12pm – 2pm – Cambridge United Kick Up competition – U14s only - Win a free place on the Cambridge United Soccer Schools

12pm – 2pm – Beat the Goalie! – U14s only – Most consecutive successful kicks in each age group wins a free place at a Cambridge United Soccer Schools

1.45pm – 2.00pm – First team kit launch and player interviews on the Main Stage. 

2.00pm – 3pm – Return to the Sport Zone to meet the Cambridge United first team. Remember your autograph books and to pre-order your shirt!
