OPEN DAY ITINERARY REVEALED

Cambridge United Open Day on Sunday 19th July

Cambridge United can now reveal the full itinerary for the U’s Open Day at the Abbey Stadium on Sunday 19th July, with official photos, live training sessions and even the chance to meet every first team player all included!

Kicking off at 10pm with an official first team photo followed by a live training session on the newly laid Abbey Stadium pitch, the schedule includes a host of activities and events that any U’s supporter will not want to miss!

The full itinerary of events on the day can be found below:

10am - Official first team photo in training kit, followed by open training session on the pitch.

10.30am - Talk on the Cambridge United Community Trust presented by Trust Manager Danny Kerrigan.

11am – Introduction to all first team players with live interviews set to take place on the pitch.

11.30am - Talk on the youth development/community scheme delivered by Football Development Manager James Cutting.

12pm - Official photos for the first team, scholars and women's team, as well as plus individual first team player photos in both the home and away kits.

12.30pm - Talk from Academy Manager Richard Meek about the upcoming campaign.

1pm - Official club photo with first team and all Academy teams in home kit, followed by official first team photo in tracksuits and photo of all Youth Development players, plus academy and first team players in the South Stand.

1.30pm - Talk for all involved in the club’s shadow academy, Goalkeepers, development centre players and parents by Jonny Martin, Jake Hammond and Martin Davies.

2pm – Conduct your own CU player interviews in "Marvin's" and player autographs taking place in the club shop

2.30pm – Joint CFU and club announcement followed by a press conference with CFU, Chairman Dave Doggett and Manager Richard Money.

3pm - Fans Forum with Dave Doggett, Chief Executive Jez George and Richard Money.

Tours of the stadium, which will include the chance to visit the new changing rooms, walk down the tunnel and sit in the new dugouts, will also take place throughout the day beginning at the club shop.

Seven tour times are available at 12.30pm, 12.40pm, 12.50pm, 1pm, 1.10pm, 1.20pm, 1.30pm.

Each tour will be capped at a maximum of 25 people, with spaces available to book now by emailing info@cambridge-united.co.uk. The remaining places will be available on a first come, first served basis on the day. 

Meanwhile, to accompany the exciting schedule of events a plethora of all day activities have also been planned to keep fans young and old entertained throughout the occasion.

• Inflatable Football pitch
• Marvin the Moose vs Cyril the Soccer Schools Squirrel
• Speed gun tests
• Mick George - Chip in the skip challenge
• Photos in the home dressing room and in the dug out
• Player autographs
• Stadium redevelopment and sporting village display – Show your support
• 100 Years of Coconuts display 
• Season ticket collection
• CFU display
• Club shop and retail outlet inside the stadium open all day
• Food and drink available
